Smart Api login Error: Unable to authenticate you with this device, please try again

The login flow from public SmartAPI login endpoint: https://smartapi.angelone.in/publisher-login?api_key=xxx&state=statevariable

is giving an error on first step. That is upon entry of mobile number.

The error message is:
"Unable to authenticate you with this device, please try again"
