      1. Why were such drastic changes implemented without any prior notice? At the very least, a month's notice should have been given to allow users to adapt.
      2. What’s the purpose of SmartAPI if it no longer supports order placement via API? It’s disappointing that customer concerns don’t seem to have been raised with the exchange, showing a lack of empathy for your users.

      Please confirm if SmartAPI is no longer a solution for API-based execution so we can explore alternative brokers/APIs accordingly.

      SmartAPI down, getting following error while getting profile and capital details (in Python):

      Exception while retriving IP Address,using local host IP address HTTPSConnectionPool(host='api.ipify.org', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: / (Caused by ConnectTimeoutError(<urllib3.connection.HTTPSConnection object at 0x12a6b5000>, 'Connection to api.ipify.org timed out.       Yes, same issue faced multiple times.

      Even on sending 1 request in a second, it is giving the error for Holdings API.

      This has been happening almost every day when the API is used. Why is the team not fixing this, even after so many users reporting these in multiple posts?

      @admin I understand on the dependencies fact. But you can still give some estimate or ballpart?
      Such as few days, a week, a month etc?

      I have never seen any product saying "No timelines" for a P0 production issue.

      This keeps happening again and again. I have raised this to the team twice (in August and October) but there is no resolution or not even a timeline for the resolution.

      Anyone planning to switch to Angel broking for Automated trading, should think 10 times before doing so. Erroneous APIs, and no support and resolution.

      @admin Thank you, working now.

      Requesting Angel team to follow quality practices for releases/updates, by:

      1. Giving notice in advance on the changes
      2. Updating Libraries and not just their internal systems (which was done here eventually after requesting), so that API users can also update on their end.

      Why can't Angel team update the library version, so that its an online sync that can be done without checking out the smart api repository?

      Even if there is any change around including TOTP in the Smartconnect generateSession, the SmartAPI library is not updated by Angel.

      The older version was 1.2.9 and even if I reinstall the library now, it still is same. https://github.com/angel-one/smartapi-python

      The error I am getting by adding TOTP in the generateSession is:
      "TypeError: SmartConnect.generateSession() takes 3 positional arguments but 4 were given"

      I have never seen a more irresponsible release plan for any user-facing product.

      How can you make this change without advance notice.
      A POA filing takes 3-4 working days.

      And you are not giving any advance notice but doing this change in next working day itself.

      Very unplanned launches and changes done by Angel broking, completely unfriendly for users.

      How to get "Used margin" or "Total margin" by SmartAPIs (Python)?

      "Used margin" is needed for calculating total capital (holdings + margin) to design the portfolio.

      I have sold all holdings from a friend's account 2 days back. Still, the Python APIs are showing them in the Holdings response of SmartAPI.
