Putting a sleep there won’t work as it will wait only in that call.

Taking this example as reference, How can I set a wait interval between requests?
Basically, I want to control when to send API request like every 2 seconds, every 5 seconds etc so that I do not exceed API quota provided in SmartAPI as mentinoed here https://smartapi.angelbroking.com/docs/RateLimit
